Posterior Embryotoxon
- May occur as an isolated finding or as a spectrum of Axenfeld-Rieger's anomaly
- Occurs in approximately 15% of normal eyes
Clinical Features
- Thickened or hypertrophied Schwalbe's ring that is anteriorly displaced
- Visible through a clear cornea as a sharply defined, concentric white line or opacity anterior to the limbus
- When associated with Axenfeld-Rieger's anomaly, bilateral involvement with multiple bridging peripheral iris strands and iris stromal hypoplasia are characteristic
