Neuro-Ophthalmology Fellowship
The Department of Ophthalmology at the Columbia University Medical Center, New York Presbyterian Hospital offers a 1–2-year fellowship in neuro-ophthalmology with clinical and research experience. This fellowship activities are centered at the Columbia University Medical Center, Edward S. Harkness Eye Institute while taking advantage of the Presbyterian Hospital and the New York Neurologic Institute on our campus as well as resources on our undergraduate campus.
We offer extensive exposure to all branches of neuro-ophthalmology including work-up for loss of vision, double vision, ophthalmologic findings in neurologic and all systemic diseases, drug toxicity and evaluation of brain tumor patients. The fellowship also includes collaboration with the undergraduate campus in Department of Psychology regarding structure-function relationships involving correlation of threshold visual fields, OCT and multifocal electrophysiology. This consists of weekly conferences in the laboratory of Dr. Donald Hood. The neuro-ophthalmology fellow will spend most of his/her time seeing out-patients in the practice of Dr. Jeffrey Odel.
