Iris Mamillations
- A rare condition
- Usually unilateral and occurs sporadic
Clinical Features
- Symptoms:
- Asymptomatic
- May cause increased intraocular pressure
- Signs:
- Distinctive smooth conical and villiform (tiny nipple-like) elevations with uniform height and a regularly spaced arrangement
- Overlie areas of hyperpigmented iris
- May partially or totally cover the anterior surface of the iris
- Has been associated with oculodermal melanosis
- May sometimes be confused with iris nodules seen in neurofibromatosis 1
