Dry Eye
- Very common complaint post LASIK surgery.
- Regarded as caused by decreased corneal sensation due to disruption of corneal nerves during the flap creation.
- Worse with superior hinge flap as opposed to nasal hinge flap.
Clinical Features
- Symptoms:
- Mild to debilitating dry eye
- Mild to severe blurry vision
- Signs: superficial punctate keratopathy.
Management
- Surface lubrication.
- Punctal plug for refractory cases.
