Prostaglandin-associated Hypertrichosis
  • Is one of the known ocular side effects of prostaglandin agents (eg. latanoprost) 

Clinical Features

  • Symptoms: usually asymptomatic
  • Signs:
    • Lengthening and thickening of the eyelash
    • May be associated with increased pigmentation of the eyelash, iris or lid

Management

  • Usually of no clinical significance
  • Important to inform the patients of this possible side effect before prescribing topical prostaglandin agents.
