Prostaglandin-associated Hypertrichosis
- Is one of the known ocular side effects of prostaglandin agents (eg. latanoprost)
Clinical Features
- Symptoms: usually asymptomatic
- Signs:
- Lengthening and thickening of the eyelash
- May be associated with increased pigmentation of the eyelash, iris or lid
Management
- Usually of no clinical significance
- Important to inform the patients of this possible side effect before prescribing topical prostaglandin agents.
