“Desire & Arousal as Occupations”
Humans achieve desire and arousal through engagement in occupation. This lecture will discuss desire and arousal from an
occupational therapy lens, including discussion about physiology, patterns, roles, rituals, and activity demands. Kathryn
will anchor this topic into multiple client populations to explore the unique ways desire and arousal may be
experienced. Private self-reflection prompts will be infused throughout the keynote address providing the
novel opportunity for learners to self-reflect on themselves as sexual beings for the purpose of experiential learning.
