Enroll in our Genetic & Genomic Assistantship and gain exposure to the practice of genetic counseling and clinical genetic medicine.

Student Research: Developing Skills to Affect Change: join our Student Research Director, Priyanka Ahimaz, to learn more about student research at the Columbia GC Program. Student research topics, courses, mentoring, grant writing, and dissemination/publication are included.

OPEN HOUSES

We invite you to join us virtually to learn more about the Columbia University Irving Medical Center campus and discover the unique strengths of our MS in Genetic Counseling program. Meet faculty and students, explore our curriculum, and learn more about applying. You are encouraged to attend one or more of the program webinars in advance of attending an open house. This year, we are offering open houses at the following dates and times:

A "How-To" Guide for Applying to Columbia University MS in Genetic Counseling Program: join our Associate Program Director, Michelle Florido, to learn more about the application process at Columbia. This webinar provides an overview of admission, including information about program prerequisites and other recommended pre-graduate experiences.​

APPLICATION WORKSHOPS

Join us for “office hours” as you work on your Columbia application. Our workshops are a time for you to ask questions and receive support for submitting an organized and complete admission application. Workshops are interactive and held in a small group format in which several  applicants will meet together with a member of program leadership to ask questions. We strongly encourage you to thoroughly review our application instructions prior to the workshop. You are welcome to bring questions about letters of recommendation, transcripts, personal statements, resume/CV, and more. Of note, workshops do not involve direct review of your application documents.

*Please note that space is limited and available only for those who have already started an application and intend to apply for admission in Fall 2025. By registering for a spot, you are confirming that you have reviewed our detailed Application Instructions document and started an application. Each applicant is eligible to attend one application workshop. If you have not yet started an application and/or sign up for more than one workshop, your registration may be cancelled.
