Overview

Dr. Rompin Shih is a seasoned medical physicist with a distinguished career spanning clinical practice, academic appointments, and research. He earned his PhD in medical physics from Rush University in Chicago, focusing on Monte Carlo simulations of dynamic wedge fields, and he also holds an MS in medical physics from the same institution. Dr. Shih is certified by the American Board of Radiology and licensed as a therapeutic radiological physicist in New York and New Jersey.

Dr. Shih's expertise includes quality assurance for advanced radiation therapy technologies, equipment acceptance testing and commissioning, and Monte Carlo simulations for linear accelerators and brachytherapy sources. Currently serving as a Medical Physicist at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and an Assistant Professor at Columbia University Medical Center, Dr. Shih is actively involved in clinical operations and resident education.
