Congratulations to Wendy Fernandez for being selected as the Employee of the Month for June 2024. Their superb work ethic and dedication deserve special recognition, and we endeavor to showcase their stellar performance. This includes qualities such as teamwork, leadership, innovation, and dedication. This month, we have selected Ms. Wendy Fernandez.

Wendy Fernandez is a dedicated professional in our Ophthalmology department, where she has been making a positive impact for the past eight years. Her unique name was inspired by the Wendy’s located on 165th Street and Broadway, close to CHONY, where she was born. As the first-generation child of Dominican immigrants, Wendy brings a rich cultural perspective to her work. Her compassionate nature and positive outlook have earned her the admiration of both patients and colleagues. Wendy prides herself on making patients feel special and remembered, often going the extra mile to ensure their comfort and care. Wendy’s love for learning is evident in her passion for languages; she frequently engages with people from diverse cultures to learn their languages.

Outside of work, Wendy is an avid reader and enjoys knitting and embroidery. She also loves to binge-watch true crime documentaries and various podcasts. Wendy believes in fostering a supportive environment for her team, making sure that every staff member feels valued and encouraged.
