The Department of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery collaborates with many basic science departments at Columbia University and runs joint engineering, neuroscience, and cancer biology programs. Our research faculty push the boundaries of basic and translational science in these areas, with clinical involvement at all levels.

Cochlear Implant

We are researching many areas, from genetic causes of hearing loss to music appreciation.

Our research ranges from repairing the larynx after nerve injury to regenerating vocal fold tissue.
