This 1-day CME conference aims to provide neurologists and other clinicians with the knowledge and tools needed to incorporate genetics into their care of neurological conditions across the lifespan. We will demonstrate the clinical utility of neurogenetics and introduce novel research in diagnostics and personalized treatments.
Upon conclusion of this activity, participants will be better able to:
1. Discuss the role of neurogenetics in the pediatric and adult setting
2. Identify which patients would benefit from genetic testing.
3. Discuss the benefits and limitations of commonly used genetic tests, and recognize the appropriate genetic testing options for different patient populations.
4. Understand ethical, legal, and social implications of neurogenetic testing.
5. Interpret and utilize genetic test results to guide clinical care.
